Two English Ayres

arr. Emily Crocker | TB with piano

An ideal set for beginning Tenor Bass choirs, these two songs were originally found in the collection “Reliquary of English Song,” and have been edited and arranged to make a wonderful short set for young singers. The first, “You Gentlemen of England” is a tune dating to the time of Elizabeth I (1533-1603) and is vigorous and lively. The second is “The British Grenadiers,” a traditional marching song which will allow your young singers a chance to engage themselves physically and sing with the natural energy all directors are trying to harness.
